This expansion aims to enhance customer engagement and ensure faster, more responsive support for vessels equipped with Kongsberg technologies.

The announcement was made during a special event at the Inamarine Expo in Jakarta, which was attended by Rut Krüger Giverin, the Ambassador of Norway to Indonesia.

“Indonesia is a vital and rapidly growing maritime nation, and both Jakarta and Batam are key hubs in this landscape,” said Patrick Banks, Vice President of Aftermarket Sales APAC, Kongsberg Maritime.

“With over 200 shipyards in Indonesia, Jakarta serves as a central point for shipping operations, government agencies, and maritime trade. Batam, on the other hand, has the highest concentration of shipyards and plays a major role in shipbuilding and repair,” he added.

Banks emphasized that having a direct presence in both cities will enable Kongsberg Maritime to be closer to its customers, respond more quickly to their needs, and fully support the lifecycle of its technologies and systems.

Kongsberg Maritime is a global provider of cutting-edge and reliable marine technology solutions for all sectors of the maritime industry. Its wide-ranging offerings include marine automation, vessel safety, maneuvering and navigation systems, dynamic positioning, energy management, deck handling, propulsion systems, and complete ship design services.

Headquartered in Kongsberg, Norway, the company operates manufacturing, sales, and service facilities in 34 countries, delivering its hallmark “Full Picture” approach to integrated maritime solutions for clients worldwide. (ire djafar)
